Introduction of Company
Chinas economy, promoted by huge exports to America and Europe, led the developing world in 2004 with a growth rate forecast to end the year at 8.8%. "Our national economy achieved stable development...and peoples livelihoods got further improvements," Chinese President Hu Jintao said. In the coming year, he said China would "continue to carry on reforms and openness, and promote fast and stable economic development."
Hu promised more trade with Hong Kong and Macau, former European colonies that returned to Chinese rule in the late 1990s. He said Beijing would "support the work of the administrative leaders" in the former colonies, as well as promote economic ties between those territories and the mainland "to maintain peaceful and stable prosperity".
While characterizing China as peaceful and stable, Hu said the world is "undergoing very deep changes". On the one hand, economic globalization and progress toward a "multipolar" world create opportunities, he said.
Business Week
Everybody knows that China is the worlds next economic superpower. Each year, it gets billions and billions of dollars in foreign investment, powering its booming economy. The Middle Kingdom has more cell-phone users than anywhere else on the planet, and soon it will be tops among Net surfers, too. American consumers cant get enough of the low-cost TVs, DVD players, mobile phones, computers, and other home appliances that come out of Chinas factories.
USA Today
Now, Chinas eventual dominance of global clothing and textiles trade is regarded as inevitable. In January 2002, the U.S. began lifting quotas on a limited number of textile products. Chinas market share in those items —— such as infant wear and socks —— soared from a combined 9% to 65%. Since then, Chinese producers have become more competitive.
