陳永楨1933年畢業(yè)于廣州嶺南大學(xué)西方語言文學(xué)系,曾任嶺南大學(xué)外文系副教授,后任廣西大學(xué)外語系系主任,先后在中山大學(xué)廣州外國語學(xué)院執(zhí)教。陳善慈曾留學(xué)英國,獲倫敦大學(xué)理學(xué)士學(xué)位及理學(xué)博士學(xué)位,并任教于英國?巳卮髮W(xué)。后進(jìn)入香港大學(xué)理學(xué)院任教,晉升高級講師之職。曾為香港大學(xué)特約研究員。張同筆名阿五。先后在香港大專學(xué)院新聞及傳播系任教,曾任香港美國新聞處新聞部總編輯、香港樹仁學(xué)院新聞系主任等。著譯及漫畫均以不同筆名發(fā)表,20世紀(jì)70年代常以阿五為筆名寫散文和作畫。
