Container transportation, or containerization, refers to a transport mode of distributing goods by using unitized containers to allow mechanized handling and possible combination of rail, road, air and ocean transport. Ever since its first introduction in early 1800s, container transport has gone through several stages and now developed into an unstoppable globalized trend which will definitely continue in decades to come.
3.1 Features of Container Transportation
Container Transportation has following features.
High Efficiency
High efficiency is manifested in several aspects. First, compared with break-bulk cargo shipment, container transport enjoys a much higher handling rate.
