本書屬于大學(xué)英語聽說課二年級(jí)課程教材。本教材將系統(tǒng)闡述公共英語演講的基本技巧,引導(dǎo)學(xué)生系統(tǒng)地學(xué)習(xí)演講的主要環(huán)節(jié),諸如選題、聽眾分析、材料收集、材料組織、開頭和結(jié)尾的策劃、語言及非言語手段的運(yùn)用等等。本教材共四個(gè)部分:演講概述,演講準(zhǔn)備過程,演講呈現(xiàn)以及演講的種類。教材分十六個(gè)單元,每單元自成一體,重點(diǎn)針對(duì)演講的某一特定環(huán)節(jié)進(jìn)行論述。每章設(shè)計(jì)學(xué)習(xí)目的提示、具體內(nèi)容路數(shù)和要點(diǎn)歸納總結(jié)。本書還提供相關(guān)的經(jīng)典演講分析。
本教材的所有編寫成員均為中國人民大學(xué)外國語學(xué)院大學(xué)英語教學(xué)部的授課教師,教學(xué)經(jīng)驗(yàn)和教學(xué)科研成果豐富。所有編者均已有十多年甚至二十多年的教學(xué)經(jīng)驗(yàn),一直以來承擔(dān)了大學(xué)英語讀寫和英語聽說課程的教學(xué)工作,深諳中國人民大學(xué)各個(gè)專業(yè)本科生的專業(yè)特征和英語聽說整體情況。編寫團(tuán)隊(duì)中的所有老師都主編或參與編寫過各種大學(xué)英語或?qū)I(yè)英語教材。
