陳世丹，文學博士，中國人民大學教授，外國語學院外國文學學科方向學術帶頭人，英語系主任，英美文學、西方文論研究方向博士生導師、博士后合作導師。全國英國文學學會常務理事、全國美國文學研究會常務理事、國際文學倫理學批評研究會理事。完成和在研國家社會科學基金項目3項：“美國后現(xiàn)代主義小說主題與藝術手法論”（97CWW004）、“美國作家?guī)鞝柼?#8226;馮內古特研究”（06BWW017）和“多克特羅小說藝術研究”（13BWW038）。在研中國人民大學重大規(guī)劃項目1項“西方后現(xiàn)代主義小說總論”（16XNLG01）。出版學術專著9部，主編教材6部，發(fā)表國家核心期刊學術論文70多篇。
