《英語辯論基礎/21世紀非母語對外傳播暨英語播音主持與國際化新聞傳播系列》是目前在中國大陸范圍內首次出版的,有關運用非母語英語駕馭“英語辯論”三種基本風格的書籍。它是筆者對執(zhí)教了多年的《英語辯論》課之經驗的總結,是對在輔導辯手參加了多屆中國大陸目前具規(guī)模、具影響力的“全國英語辯論賽”的實戰(zhàn)思考的提煉。編者主要講解了三種主要的英語辯論風格,即,“ValueDebating”、“ParliamentaryDebating”和“Cross-examination Debating”。由于建構“辯論”的理論和規(guī)則是由“西方”完成的,所以,為了適合中國學生的思維方式,是為了激發(fā)中國學生的“批判式思維”,《英語辯論基礎/21世紀非母語對外傳播暨英語播音主持與國際化新聞傳播系列》作者試圖以理論介紹為出發(fā)點,以所執(zhí)教的學生在《英語辯論》課上的實訓為個案分析,從而,使得較為抽象和西化的理論變得較易理解。
