《英語(yǔ)媒體文章選讀》就是基于這樣的時(shí)代發(fā)展背景,在傳統(tǒng)的《英文報(bào)刊選讀教程》基礎(chǔ)上,利用豐富的互聯(lián)網(wǎng)媒體資源,選擇國(guó)外著名英語(yǔ)報(bào)刊網(wǎng)站上的各種熱點(diǎn)文章,根據(jù)英語(yǔ)專業(yè)閱讀教學(xué)的需要,對(duì)所選取的不同題材和體裁的文章進(jìn)行編輯而成的教材。本書旨在提高學(xué)生閱讀英語(yǔ)媒體文章的理解能力和語(yǔ)言水平,并通過增加一些科技、體育、娛樂等與西方文化相關(guān)的“軟新聞”和每個(gè)單元穿插講述的新聞傳播學(xué)知識(shí)、世界主要通訊社、報(bào)刊閱讀技巧以及與課文相關(guān)的一些背景知識(shí)等拓寬學(xué)生的知識(shí)面,提高學(xué)生對(duì)新聞時(shí)事的興趣。
本教材的編者多年從事英語(yǔ)報(bào)刊閱讀教學(xué)工作,深刻意識(shí)到教材內(nèi)容對(duì)教學(xué)效果的重要性。
本教材在編撰過程中既繼承了舊版《英文報(bào)刊選讀教程》的優(yōu)點(diǎn),又吸收和借鑒了同行的成果,克服了同類教材選材難度大、時(shí)效性不強(qiáng)等局限性,考慮到了不同背景和不同層次學(xué)生的接受能力,重視教師在課堂教學(xué)上應(yīng)發(fā)揮的作用。本教材適用對(duì)象為英語(yǔ)專業(yè)本科生、?粕,也可供非英語(yǔ)專業(yè)已完成大學(xué)英語(yǔ)基礎(chǔ)階段學(xué)習(xí)的本科生和具有同等外語(yǔ)水平的學(xué)習(xí)者使用。
