《中國當代社會與文化英文教程(第三版)》圖文并茂地提供一種展現(xiàn)中國當代社會歷史文化風貌的視覺方式,凸顯重要主題。全書共分為10個單元,每個單元以一個主題為中心,從中國國家基本概況談起,涵蓋各族人民、語言文學、教育制度、科學技術、傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日、山川河流、飲食文化、中醫(yī)療法、中華瑰寶等諸多方面的文化知識。通過聽說讀寫譯等多種訓練方式教授學生了解和介紹中華文化。課程內容生動、直觀,符合當代大學生的認知心理。教材語篇長度、難度適中,生詞短語有詞匯表,文化背景知識有腳注,每篇文章后均有長難句注釋,方便學習者學習和查找。
第三版對語言文學、教育制度、科學技術三個單元的選篇做了較大幅度的修改,更新了課文內容和統(tǒng)計數(shù)據(jù),去除了內容相對陳舊的篇章,增加了與時俱進的選篇和經典作品與人物的介紹,比如在線教育、科幻小說與電影、問鼎茅盾文學獎的長篇小說《白鹿原》及其作者陳忠實、“捧著一顆心來,不帶半根草去”的人民教育家陶行知等。

訾纓,北京林業(yè)大學外語學院教授。 在高校英語教學21年中,先后主講過英語專業(yè)、涉外專業(yè)和大學英語各專業(yè)的英語精讀、泛讀、視聽說、語法與考試指導、英美概況、大學英語、研究生綜合英語、成人英語等課程。主編《英語綜合技能培養(yǎng)與提高》《大學英語四級考試教程》等教材、工具書和教學參考書18部。主持過教改課題5項。 發(fā)表研究論文12篇。曾獲省部級優(yōu)秀社科專著三等獎一項、優(yōu)秀論文二等獎3項。
李芝,北京林業(yè)大學外語學院教授、院長、博士、碩導,美國麻省理工學院訪問學者。北京市研究生英語教學研究分會常務理事、北京高校英語專業(yè)委員會委員、中國英漢語比較研究會外語教育技術專業(yè)委員會理事。研究方向為二語習得、語料庫語言學,外語教育。主持教育部人文社科基金項目、教育部新文科研究與改革實踐項目、教育部考試院與劍橋大學應用聯(lián)合項目及北京市精品視頻公開課等項目,參加并完成國家社科基金2項,教育部人文社科基金項目1項;出版專著2部,教材20多部,發(fā)表學術論文30多篇。獲得北京市高等教育學會研究生英語教學研究分會“第六屆青年教師基本功比賽”特等獎。
