At the Second Belt and Road Summit Forum on International Cooperation in 2019 and the Seventy-third World Health Assembly in 2020， General Secretary Xi Jinping stated the importance for promoting the construction of the \"Belt and Road\" and jointly build a commu-nity for human health. Countries and regions along the \" Belt and Road\" have a large number of overseas Chinese communities， and shared close geographic proximity， similarities in culture， disease profiles and medical habits. They also shared a profound mass base with am-ple space for cooperation and exchange in Clinical Medicine. The publication of the Interna-tional Clinical Medicine series for clinical researchers， medical teachers and students in countries along the \"Belt and Road\" is a concrete measure to promote the exchange of Chi-nese and foreign medical science and technology with mutual appreciation and reciprocity.
　　Zhengzhou University Press coordinated more than 600 medical experts from over 160 renowned medical research institutes， medical schools and clinical hospitals across China. It produced this set of medical tools in English to serve the needs for the construction of the \" Belt and Road\". It comprehensively coversaspects in the theoretical framework and clinical practicesin Clinical Medicine， including basic science， multiple clinical specialities and social medicine. It reflects the latest academic and technological developments， and the international frontiers of academic advancements in Clinical Medicine. It shared with the world China's latest diagnosis and therapeutic approaches， clinical techniques， and experi-ences in prescription and medication. It has an important role in disseminating contemporary Chinese medical science and technology innovations， demonstrating the achievements of mod-ern China's economic and social development， and promoting the unique charm of Chinese culture to the world.
　　The series is the first set of medical tools written in English by Chinese medical experts to serve the needs of the \" Belt and Road\" construction. It systematically and comprehensive-ly reflects the Chinese characteristics in Clinical Medicine. Also， it presents a landmark achievement in the implementation of the \" Belt and Road\" initiative in promoting exchangesin medical science and technology. This series is theoretical in nature， with each volume built on the mainlines in traditional disciplines but at the same time introducing contemporary theories that guide clinical practices， diagnosis and treatment methods， echoing the latest research findings in Clinical Medicine.
　　As the disciplines in Clinical Medicine rapidly advances， different views on knowledge，inclusiveness， and medical ethics may arise. We hope this work will facilitate the exchange of ideas， build common ground while allowing differences， and contribute to the building of a community for human health in a broad spectrum of disciplines and research focuses.
