With the rapid development of oil/gas exploration and production, Sinopec has involved in petroleum engineering projects across the world, hundreds of thousands its staff and foreign employees working together, extensive cooperation and communication with foreign companies and personnel are often needed. To facilitate the implementation of the specification and relevant technical standards by foreign employees in Chinese-funded drilling operations, the English edition has been translated from original edition in Chinese entitled “石油鉆井作業(yè)手冊”, which was written by Lu Baoping and Li Guohua and published by China University of Petroleum Press in 2014.
This Manual mainly introduces well drilling techniques, process control and management practices applied by Sinopec worldwide. It took IADC Drilling Manual, Well Engineers Notebook of Shell, Drilling Data Handbook, and Drilling Manual as references, cited international petroleum technical specifications and standards, incorporated edge-cutting techniques, good practices, equipment and facilities from well-known oil companies. Compared
