孫大雨(1905-1997),祖箱浙江省諸暨市,出生于上海,1925年畢業(yè)于北京清華學校高等科。1926年赴美國留學就讀于達德穆斯學院,1928年獲高級榮譽畢業(yè)。19281930年在耶魯大學研究生院專攻英文文學。1930年回國,歷任武漢大學、北京師范大學、北平大學女子文理學院、北京大學、青島大學、浙江大學、暨南大學、中央政治學院、復旦大學、華東師范大學等校英文文學教授。主要著作有:《中國新詩庫·孫大雨卷》《孫大雨詩文集》《屈原詩選英譯》《古詩文英譯集》《英詩選譯集》,以及翻譯莎士比亞作品《罕襪萊德》《黎琊王》《奧賽羅》《麥克白斯》《暴風雨》《冬日故事》《羅密歐與居麗曄》《威尼斯商人》。
